On the way up to Lake Geneva (Lac Lehman for you French speakers) from the Agde on the Mediterranean coast of France during last year’s family fun camping road trip, we had an overnight stay in Valence, France. There wasn’t much that our go-slow touring family could do in a town for an overnight stay. So we just drove to the city center, winging it, and landed at a huge, truly family-friendly park called Parc Jouvet.
It had several play areas for differing ages, lots of shade from mature trees and lots of luscious green grass. It has a small lake. Perfect for picnic and play in the summer. It even had water sprays which is always an endless form of entertainment for kids. It is also next to Esplanade du Champ de Mars. Paid parking was just underground next to the park, making it super easy for a quick stop. Valence has a lot more to offer, but if you are just passing by this park might just give you some rest, recreation and recuperation time.
Here are some pics.
P.S. We had wanted to get all the posts out from the places we visited last summer and it seems that I was a bit ambitious. . . we ran out of time since our next summer camping road trip begins next week! So, we’ll take a pause from this series, and post new ones. See you on the road. . . again!
